Benjamin Carpenter

Benjamin Carpenter is an artist and and educator who has worked on multiple large scale experiential art works both collaborative and personal. For his upcoming solo show at Basement Gallery Oakland he will convert the gallery into an interactive mechanical sound installation intended to be experienced over time.

This collaborative group installation will be the 3rd in a series of already completed interactive performances that seek to erase the artist/audience boundary and focus on the collective first-person experience of musical improvisation and sound experimentation. Radio Free Clear Light, or RFCL is a local group of artistic collaborators who create live interactive installations and performances incorporating sound, video, voice and live instruments, all effecting one another to create a unique and improvised collage of interaction.
